Samenvatting
Marie, a powerful single mom struggles, but makes life work for herself. Her life is grand because she lives by her own rules and those rules keep her happy. ‘Who gives a hoot about what others think anyway.’ She downs glasses of red rubies, loves to swear and is up in your face honest. When her kids leave home, she’s confronted with the empty nest syndrome, but she soon finds herself a very rewarding hobby and starts to enjoy life on her own or with close friends. Her loneliness doesn’t last forever when a tragedy occurs forcing her to adopt and raise a baby girl. In the years that pass, Marie senses that something is terribly wrong, but she brushes every incident off until she gets forced to accept the horrific truth. The cold icy stare of the baby is the beginning of a tale with a most unexpected twist.
