  This thesis provides insight into various aspects of the treatment of psoriasis in the elderly, in which a personalized approach is crucial. In addition to considering disease-specific characteristics, it is important to consider patient-related characteristics such as comorbidity, use of comedication, frailty and functional dependency in this population. Based on this thesis and the heterogeneity of this population, treatment decisions based purely on calendar age are undesirable and age-related assumptions should be avoided. An advanced age can be a signal to further evaluate frailty and functional dependency. In this, applying a frailty assessment, multidisciplinary consultation and (additional) telephone consultations can be valuable. In addition, it is essential to include patient preferences, treatment goals, burden of treatment and feasibility of treatment in the joint decision-making.
