Samenvatting
An obvious title for these ramblings would have been A RETURN TO ECOC, but that was too obvious. What is less obvious, is the extent to which bus driving has changed over the years. An initial course of training can now take at least eight weeks; much longer than was average back in the sixties. Though vehicles are now easier to drive, certain factors remain the same: dealing with the public, unsociable hours, struggling with traffic conditions, adhering to timetables, and coping with breakdowns or other forms of incidental stress. Not everyone’s ideal occupation. Dave Wright remembers the ups and downs of being a bus driver in rural Norfolk during the late sixties and early seventies.
