In de loop der jaren heeft Kati Heck (°1979) een zeer persoonlijke visie op het alledaagse ontwikkeld. Haar werken lijken fictieve projecties uit haar eigen universum, en ze gebruikt de diversiteit die inherent is aan schilderen als een middel om verbinding te maken met het potentieel van de verbeelding. Heck staat vooral bekend als schilder maar drukt zich ook uit in andere media zoals fotografie, beeldhouwkunst en performances. Haar kleurrijke oeuvre wordt steevast gekarakteriseerd door ironie, drama en een hoogst origineel gevoel voor het groteske.
In Hauruck, dat gepubliceerd wordt naar aanleiding van Hecks soloshow in Kunstmuseum Den Haag (van 6 juni tot 8 november 2020), vindt u zo’n 75 werken die gemaakt werden tussen 2013 en 2020, naast een speciaal voor dit boek gemaakt beeldverhaal.
