Zij hebben een tijdsbeeld gecreëerd waarin we Haarlem zien zoals we haar niet eerder zagen. Het project is vormgegeven middels een boek, een website en een expositie.

By creating a time frame through which we come to see Haarlem in a new light. The project is given shape as a book, a website and as an exhibition. Marike Koe Marike photographes people and places. Her pictures are made out of her own intuition, without the use of a flashlight or a tripod. Marike has a style that registers her environment in a documentary fashion. For the ‘Haarlem by Night’ project she walked through Haarlems neighborhoods at night, creating images that captured the light and darkness, both literally and figuratively. Joshua Baumgarten Joshua is the Haarlem Underground Godfather. For twenty years already he organizes alternative music events, poetry nights and festivals. He is also the frontman of the Irrational Library band, in which his social-political spoken word has a leading role. For ‘Haarlem by Night’ he motivated himself to write daily. In search of stilness, routine and meaning, he wrote short and longer poems, columns that reflected his moods and impressions of this time period.
