Samenvatting
This book describes various true stories about elderly abuse, written from the caregiver. The author of this book, Hetty Termeer, aims with this book to identify elderly abuse, which occurs on a large scale, much faster and to dáre tackle it. She is convinced that the behaviour of an older one that looks like dementia, by insufficient personal attention can lead to not-identifying of elderly abuse; even to reinforce this. It applies to her that every elderly care situation stands alone; the approach of elderly abuse cannot simply be captured in a protocol. It is more important that caregivers, district nurses, nurse practitioners of the GP, immediately get started with the approach of elderly abuse, actually at the first signals. Preferably together. Ofcourse, this takes a considerable amount of time and creative ability to go into it fully. But otherwise..?!
